I had an abortion when I was twenty-two, and I am now thirty-one years old. I never felt haunted by my decision in any way or wondered if I had made a mistake. I’ve never known whether I timed a pill improperly, or if the birth control failed. I had the procedure at my gynecologist’s office. I know that it was a much easier experience for me than it is for women who live in restrictive states, or who are pressured by others to have a baby that they do not want.
